JK Olympic Association AGM meet held

Annual General Body meeting of Jammu and Kashmir Olympic Association was held on Sunday, March 12 at Amar Singh Club Jammu under the chairmanship of S Rangil Singh, President, J&K Olympic Association that was also attended by representatives of 23rd State Sports Associations affiliated to J&K Olympic Association.

Besides, regular items of Agenda like confirming the minutes of the last meeting, adoption of secretary’s report, passing of the audited account following decisions were taken.

A committee of the following members was constituted to finalize the list of outstanding sport persons of different disciplines to felicitate in a glittering function to be organized before office move. S Dushyant Sharma, Kuldeep Magotra, Ajay Sharma, Kuldeep Handoo, Ravinder Singh, Yudhvir Singh, Vikas Gupta. President and Hony. General Secretary will be Ex-officio members.

Another Committee of the below mentioned members was constituted to chalk-out the plan to organize the State Games in the disciplines which qualify for the 36th National Games to be hosted by GOA Olympic Association in the month of November 2017.OLYMPIC

Zamir Thakur, Dr. Nirmolak Singh, Sunil Sharma, Sanjay Wahi, Irfan Butta, Rajan Sharma. President and Secretary to be Ex-officio members.

Another committee of the following members was constituted to make arrangements for sending the qualified teams for participation in the National Games.

HS Gill, Bhupinder Singh Tirthi, Kuldeep Handoo, Rajan Sharma, SS Gill, Sharat Chander Singh, Om Parkash, Vikas Gupta. Ravi Salgotra, Media Advisor will be associated in all the meetings.

Officials of State Olympic Association vis-à-vis SHS  Gill, Chef-de-mission, Haji Abdul Qayoom, CSR, Dy. Chef-de-mission, SSS  Gill, Dy. Chef-de-mission and Sharat Chander Singh, Secretary-cum-treasurer who were instrumental in making all arrangements for the successful participation of J&K Contingent in the 35th National Games held at Kerala were felicitated.

It was stressed upon by all the members to approach the authorities both State and Centre for providing necessary infrastructure for all the disciplines specially Athletics which is almost nil in the State and to ensure best utilization of the funds provided by the Centre specially for “KHELO INDIA” and infrastructure.
