J&K Dragon Boat, Canoe Polo team flagged off

Srinagar: The Jammu and Kashmir Dragon Boat and Canoe Polo team has set their eyes on getting laurels for the State. The contingent of 22 boys and girls will be participating in the 5th National Dragon Boat Championship at Udaipur Rajasthan from 18th to 20th. They will be participating under the banner of J and K state sports council.

Adil Mohideen, an international player who is also participating in the championship said, “Jammu and Kashmir government is taking keen interest in water sports.” He further added that Government provided us with international standard equipment in Canoe Sprint and also with good coaches.

While flagging of the contingent, Secretary Sports Council congratulated the participants for participating in the championship and wished them luck. He also appreciated the role played by concerned sportsperson in the development of water sports. He assured them all possible support for the development and promotion of water sports in the State.

Meanwhile, International reputed coach Bilqees Mir appreciated the support from Chief Minister, who is also the president of the state sports council, Imran Reza Ansari, Vice president of the Council and Secretary Sports Council for providing them full support and latest international equipment’s.
