AG’s J&k Football team lost the semi final against defending champions AG Punjab team in thrilling contest by a solitary goal.
J&K AG team was unfortunate in getting the scores as shoots targeted at Punjab goal either hit bars or were saved by Punjab goalkeeper.The score could have been 3-1 in favour of J&K team but it was not the day for J&K which played an attacking game right from the word go.
All the players showed great skill,temperament and attitude which was hailed by large gatherings there and other participant teams also.The boys really deserved a lot of applause for their show in the tournament despite lack of practice during the entire season reasons known to us.
Skipper Waseem Makhdoomi lead from the front with an extraordinary display of aggressive football and almost equalized for the team in dying moments with speed shoot from top of the the penalty area but was just stopped by Punjab’s goalkeeper.
