Department of Physical Education of Islamia college organised a one day return summit to highest peak of Srinagar, mount Mahadev (alt. 3990 mtrs) on Saturday the 14th of April 2018.
The small party of eight students, three staff members and one college alumni Abid, reached the top of the peak after eight hours of continuous trekking on medium to difficult trail and soft and hard snow of four to seven feet deep in the famous Mahadev bowl.
The party led by the college Director of Physical Education Dr. Altaf Ur Rehman, started the challenging journey at 7:00 am in the morning from Scholar’s school point nd reached back the same place after about 13 hrs of continuous trekking almost with out a break. The one day return trekking to the Mount Mahadev was attempted by any local college students group for the first time and accomplished the task successfully. Principal Prof. Muzafar Ahmed Khan and Prof. Shamim Ah Shamim Convenor sports committee congratulated the college trekking party on the successful completion of the challenging task.
