Department of Physical Education of Islamia College Srinagar organized basic trekking and mountaineering camp for the benefit of college students and staff members.
The participants were mostly the members of the College trekking and hiking club. The training was imparted about tent pitching, backpack settings. The techniques of trekking in different terrains were taught to the participants by Aqib Ahmed experienced alpine trekker imparted training to the participants.
Dr. Altaf ur Rehman, Director physical education of the college supervised the one day Trekking programme at snow clad meadow of Sonmarg. The college authorities have already agreed to organise week long trekking programmes to Tarsar Marsar and Gangbal lakes this year. Next week the college trekking party is going to Mahadev top for a two days days hiking, Dr. Altaf informed.
