After the recent inclusion of Bandipora boy Manzoor Dar in IPL, one more emerging star from Bandipora made it to higher level.
Ishtiyaq Elahi commonly known as Robby today made it to the J&K team which is going to participate in BCCI organized Vijay Hazare one day tournament.
With this, Ishtiyaq became the first boy from Tehsil Bandipora to achieve be selected for the J&K senior cricket team. After lot of struggle, hardships, he has finally made it to the top.
Ishtiyaq expressed his joy and thanked his family friends for their support;
“I am happy and firstly want to thank my parents, my younger brother along all my well wishers who always supported me” he said
“Also I want to warmly thank BCC (Bandipora Cricket Club) family for their support. I have been part of this club from number of years and they have always been there for me” he added
He also mentioned the difficulties he has faced in his career and thanked current administration of JKCA for the fair selection
“I have gone through very hard days, but I knew I will do it sooner or later. Thankfully the current JKCA administration is doing justice with players.”
“I will try my level best to do well in the tournament and make my State proud” he further said.
J&K will play it’s first match against Vidarbha on 6th February.
