The only Kashmir cricketer in this seasons Indian Premier League (IPL) Manzoor Dar (Pandav) is likely to play his debut match for Kings-XI Punjab against Mumbai Indians at Indore on Friday.
Kings XI Punjab will play match against Mumbai Indians at Holkar Stadium, Indore after a one-week gap. They last played match on April 26 in which they went down against Hyderabad Sunrisers in a low scoring affair.
“The team has gelled well and almost everyone has contributed so far and that is the reason Manzoor has not got the chance. Even Yuvraj Singh was dropped in last match owing to his bad form and that should give you idea that what is going inside our dressing room,” said a Kings XI Punjab official.
“Nothing can be said about the final playing eleven and what team captain and coach would prefer on the given day. However, I can say it with confidence that Manzoor may make his debut either against Mumbai Indians or Rajasthan Royals in Indore. He is talented player and we really like him. He is also popular among fans,” official added.
Pandav may be given chance in place of Mayank Agarwal. Mayank had great domestic season but so far in the seven IPl matches played he has scored only 105 runs. That looks the only possibility and way in for popular Kashmir cricketer into team.
