Srinagar: The 2 day long District Srinagar Thang-Ta Championship 2016, organized by District Srinagar Thang Ta Association under the banner of J&K State Sports Council was inaugurated by Minister of Sports , ( Vice President) J&K State Sports Council , Molvi Imran Ansari at Indoor Sports Complex, Srinagar on saturday.
In the event 200 boys and girls from all over the district are participating. The medalist of the championship will get berth in the State championship and will be the final selection for the 22nd National Thang Ta Championship 2016, which is scheduled to be held at Hyderabad.
The Sports Minister witnessed the bouts of the different weight categories of the Championship, Speaking on the Occasion The Minister said that I am very happy to see the mass participation of boys and girls in the Thang-Ta martial arts and he also interacted with all the players and assured them his full help and support by way of providing the kits, Mats and other Thang Ta sports material in favor of the players.
The Minster also lauds the hardwork of Secretary Sports council.
Among others were Secretary, Sports Council, Waheed ur Rehman Parra, Anjun Fazili, MLA ,Madam Nayeema Mehjoor, Chairman, Womens Commission, Sports officer Kashmir , Mushtaq Ahmad, Manager Bakhshi stadium, Nusrat Gazala and Manager Indoor stadium, Tulal Ahmad , M. Iqbal Coach & Ayjaz Ahmad Bhat Coach and the officials of J&K Thang Ta Association and Sports Council.
