Srinagar: Former Pakistan pacer Mohammad Amir once again has stressed that he has no issues with Pakistan skipper Babar Azam and they have a cordial relationship.
However, Mohammad Amir has made one more comment that has the potential to turn into a controversial one. He has said that for him Babar Azam is not a threatening T20 batter
Amir in a show on Pakistan television was questioned about tensions between him and Babar Azam.
In response, Amir clarified that there are no issues at all.
“Babar was my junior when I was playing for Pakistan, and he has always respected me,” Amir said in the programe.
Adding sarcasm to his clarification Amir joked, “Babar is not my ex-fiance that I won’t like him.”
Amir also clarified his previous statement regarding Babar, saying that he never called the Pakistan captain an average player or a tailender.
“I have always said that he is a great batter in Tests and ODIs. In T20s, I have a different opinion related to him. As a bowler, I don’t see Babar as threatening in T20 format,” he concluded.
