The Directorate of Physical Education and Sports department Kashmir University kick started its annual Inter-college sports calendar by organising cycle race (men) which saw an impressive participation from all colleges from valley.

A team from Kargil was also participating in the event. The event saw as many as 90 boys participating. The race was inaugurated by Prof. Nisar Ahmad Rather, Director, Physical Education and Sports. The participants were thoroughly briefed about the route and precautions to be taken during race.The race started from UNO office gupkar road via Grand lalit, SKICC,Nishat and culminated at RUMI gate of Kashmir university. Mohd.Adil Teli (Gandhi college ,Srinagar)24:35 ,Adil Ahmad Teli(Gandhi College,Srinagar)25:21,Manan wani(GDC Baramulla)25:26 secured first ,second and third positions respectively. The position winners were felicitated by medals and trophies during a prize distribution held after the race at the Directorate. Consolation prizes were also given upto 10 positions.speaking on the occasion Prof Nisar Ahmad said that the Directorate is committed to provide all possible support to merit holders in Participation of All India Inter University cycling event.He thanked the authorities of the university ,SSP traffic Srinagar, all Physical directors, staff of the Directorate, Heath centre,proctor office etc. For their cooperation in making this event a grand success.
