Hashmat finish first in Amar Singh College road race

Srinagar: Hashmat Salaam of 1st Sem student emerged winner in the Annual College Road Race of Amar Singh College Srinagar held from Nishat Park to Duck Park Srinagar on Tuesday April 30-2019.

The run was flagged off at Nishat crossing by the college Principal Prof. Shaheen Altaf and around 70 students participate in it.

The athlete ran via Foreshore Road and the race culminated at Duck Park covering the total distance of 5.2 Kilometers.

Hashmat Salam took the lead by sprinting ahead of the rest of the competitors and finished first with a comfortable lead. He finished first with the timing of 15.5 minutes followed by Suhail Mehraj of B.A Ist Sem with the timing of 17.5 mins,  Mohd Amin Magray of B. A Ist Sem finished 3rd with timing of 19.00 minutes, Aadil, Tanvar, Niyaz, Shakir, Ovais, Khalid and Sajad finished from 4th to 10th respectively.

The closing ceremony was held at the Duck Park in which Trophies, Track Suits were awarded to first three position holders and medals were awarded to ten position holders by the worthy Principal and Senior teaching faculty members.

At the concluding ceremony Prof. Shaheen Altaf (Principal) stressed upon the students to take part in all sports activities coming up during the year 2019-20. Prof.

Mir Mashooq Hussain (Convener Sports Committee) highlighted the importance of sports activities and urged them to participate in more and more events to be organized by Sports Department of the College.
