Hajin, May 17: In the first Quarter-finals of the ongoing Hajin Cricket Cup, Green X Ganderbal defeated Real Star Mahrajpora in a rain halted match by 12 runs to qualify for the Semi-finals of the tournament.
Batting first, Ganderbal posted a total of 124/10 on board in 17.2 overs. Parvaiz Reshi was the top scorer with 56 runs to his name. For Mahrajpora, Mohd Ishtiyaq took 4 wickets while as Babar scalped 2 wickets.
In the second innings, the match was reduced to 16 overs due to rain and Mahrajpora needed 112 runs to win, in response they only managed to score 99/8 in 16 overs and fell short of the target by 12 runs. Mohd Rizwan played a valiant knock of 50 runs for them while as Mohd Amin bowled a splendid spell for Ganderbal as he bagged 4 wickets in his spell and conceded only 7 runs.
Mohd Amin was declared as player of the match for his brilliant bowling spell.
