Doda, July 02: New Siraj Doda and Rising Star Udhampur outplayed rivals in their respective matches and advanced to the next stage of the ongoing All India 13th Gufran Memorial T20 Cricket Championship 2017 being played at Sports Stadium Doda.
The tournament is being organized by Young Star Cricket Club Doda and sponsored by Rashtriya Rifles Battalion Doda.
In the first match after winning the toss, New Siraj Doda made 116 runs for the loss of their wickets in 14 overs with the contribution of 31 runs by Ravinder and 23 runs by Jahangir Nizami. From Friends Cricket Club Chiralla, Sunny Manhas and Rajnesh take 04 and 03 wickets respectively.
In reply, FCC Chiralla could not chase the stipulated target and was bundled out for 108 runs in 17.3 overs. Anoop was the highest scorer from FCC Chiralla who contributed 51 runs while Rishi Kumar scored 17 runs for the team. From New Siraj Doda, Nasir Dev, Rehan and Ravinder scalped 02 wickets each.
Later on Ravinder of New Siraj Doda was declared as Man of the Match for his best all round performance.
In the second match, batting first after winning the toss, Rising Star Udhampur made 187 runs for the loss of 04 wickets with the contribution of 70 runs by Saksham Sharma and 57 runs by Rajat Sharma. From Friends Cricket Club Thathri, Sachin, Gourav and Shakeel scalped 01 wicket each.
In reply, batsmans of FCC Thathri couls not made it possible to chase down the given target and was bundled out for 122 runs in 15.1 overs. Shakeel and Yawar Khan scored 34 and 32 runs respectively for their team while from RS Udhampur, Vikas Bhat was the most successful bowler who took 04 wickets followed by Saksham Sharma, Vinod, Deepak and Amandeep who shared 01 wicket each.
Later on Saksham Sharma of RS Udhampur was declared as Man of the Match for his best all round performance who was given prize by Sr Cricketer Mehboob Tariq Khateeb along with CA Rajeev Rana.
The matches were officiated by Ifroz Rather, Munish Zutshi and Irshad Malik as Umpires while Milind Gore and Waseem Raja maintained the score.
