Srinagar: Finance Minister, Haseeb Drabu on Wednesday announced that Government will launch football league in memory of Late Mufti Mohammad Sayeed.
“I would end this speech on a rather personal note; as a tribute to Mufti Sahib on his first death anniversary, I propose to institute a football league in which teams from within the state will participate. The format for the proposed Mufti Memorial Gold Cup will be worked out by the J&K Football Association which will be the organizing body for the league tournament. For this I shall allocate Rs. 2 crore,” Drabu said during his Budget2017-18 speech.
