NEW DELHI: The 3rd India v New Zealand ODI played at Mohali was a special one for the Indian captain MS Dhoni.
He not only promoted himself up the order but scored 80 off 91 balls, reminding the cricket fans that Dhoni the batsman is not finished yet.
During his knock, Dhoni scored 9000 ODI runs becoming only the fifth Indian batsman and third wicketkeeper batsman to reach the milestone.
He also surpassed Sachin Tendulkar’s tally for most number of sixes in ODIs (195) by an Indian and also became also completed 150 stumpings in international cricket.
And the wishes poured in for MS Dhoni through various social media platforms.
Joining the bandwagon was another legend of the game, Adam Gilchrist, who incidentally is one of the only three wicketkeeper batsmen to score over 9000 ODI runs.
