Srinagar, October 8: The Kashmir Swing Legends were crowned champions of the inaugural Royal Springs Golf League (RSGL) after an exciting week of competitive team golf at the Royal Springs Golf Course in Srinagar.
The maiden edition of the Royal Springs Golf League brought together leading amateur golfers from the region, providing a new platform for competitive team-based golf in Kashmir.
The tournament featured a series of closely fought contests, with teams competing across different handicap categories. The competitive format produced several intense matches while also promoting camaraderie and sportsmanship among the participating golfers.
The Kashmir Swing Legends remained composed during the decisive stages of the competition, producing consistent performances through the league and knockout rounds to secure the inaugural championship.
The matches were conducted under match-play conditions in accordance with the applicable Rules of Golf, along with the local rules prescribed for the tournament.
Organisers hail response from golfing community
Speaking after the conclusion of the tournament, Shabir A. Bhat, who was associated with the organisation of the league, said the response from the golfing community had been highly encouraging.
“The first edition of the Royal Springs Golf League has been a tremendous success. Our objective was to create a competitive yet enjoyable team-golf environment for the members of Royal Springs Golf Course, and the response has exceeded our expectations.”
He congratulated the Kashmir Swing Legends as well as all participating teams and players for contributing to the success of the inaugural edition.
The organisers also expressed their appreciation to the Royal Springs Golf Course management, participating teams, sponsors, officials, caddies and volunteers for their support in conducting the tournament successfully.
Royal Springs Golf League concludes with prize ceremony
The inaugural RSGL concluded on October 8 with a prize distribution ceremony and high tea at the Royal Springs Golf Course.
The successful completion of the first edition has raised expectations that the Royal Springs Golf League could become a regular feature of Kashmir’s golfing calendar.
With its focus on team competition, participation across handicap categories and an emphasis on sportsmanship, the league is expected to contribute further to the growth of competitive golf in the region.
