Government Degree College Bijbehara organised its annual road race 2017 for boys on Tuesday. The race was flagged off at 6:00 am from the college campus by the senior professor of the College Ahmad Malla accompanied by the members of various committees including the Sports Committee.
In the race more than 50 students of the college participated. The race was started from college campus and ended at Kanelwan village, a total run of 5 kms. In the Race Mushtaq Ahmad Boomla of BG 2nd Semester secured the first place, Ajaz Akram Dar of BG first Semester secured the 2nd place and Mohammad Idress Bhat of 2nd Semester Secured the 3rd place.
At the end of the race prize distribution ceremony was held in the College Auditorium in which first three position holders were awarded with the trophies and medals at the hands of Principal and others staff members.
Besides them, first ten position holders of the race were also awarded with consolation prizes. Speaking at the prize distribution ceremony the worthy College Principal Prof. Nazir Ahmad Chiraag appreciated all the students for the participation in the race and also stressed the students to participate in all kind of sports activities of the college in future which in turn will give you physical as well as academic benefits.
The Principal Chiraag also appreciated the teaching and non teaching staff for the conduct of the successful event. He also thanked the block medical officer Bijbehara for deputing a medical team with first aid facility for making the event a grand success. Besides Him, the Convenor sports committee Prof. Bashir Ahmad Shah also appreciated the effort of students and staff of the college for making the event a successful one.
