Ganderbal: Scores of football players from all over the Ganderbal district today protested against District football association for alleged manipulation in the process of election.
Protesting players accused president of Ganderbal football association ,Bashir Ahmad Dar of registering 7 new teams from a single village Haran,which actually don’t exit and are only on papers to favour his candidature in DFA election.
Afaq Rahim ,a player of FC Ganderbal said,” DFA election is pre-planned drama .about 35 teams are not in voting list .President of GFA only call those teams for election who are in his favor. Every 4 years since inception of GFA,he has been manipulating election in his favour.”
Protesting players displayed play cards which read ‘save football save future’.’Stop election drama’.
A footballer form Arch said”DFA President has ruined football in Ganderbal. DFA in president ship of Bashir Ahmad Dar has made no progress in terms of promotion and development of football in the district.”
Representatives from various teams said that DFA wad only organizing tournament in farlung sendibal where only 10-12 participate, rest about 35 are not even informed about the tournament.Many Team which include Kangan ,Nunar,Yarmukum and other team from North Ganderbal had never been invited for elections despite applying for registration.
The protesters appeal JKFA to intervene in the matter.They also demand all teams should be registered after that election should be held under observation of JKFA. (Kashmir Press service)
