J&K Snowshoe Association in collaboration with J&K Tourism department would be conducting first snowshoe championship of season at winter sport resort of Kashmir Gulmarg on Sunday.
The 8-kilomtre season opening event would involve some of the top athletes of Valley and it will also mark the official opening of the winter sports season in Kashmir. The mass start event will be held on Sunday afternoon while as athletes will have to report at Tangmarg at 12: PM where from they will be provided transport facility upto Gulmarg bowl.

Snowshoe is sports that involves athletes competing using specially made Snowshoe on the snow. Gulmarg recently received around 2 and half feet of snow.
The event would be held under the aegis of Snowshoe Federation of India and World Snowshoe Federation.
