District Kupwara Rugby championship held

Srinagar: The second Dstrict Kupwara Rugby 7’s championship organized by District Kupwara Rugby Association concluded at Government Higher secondary school, Kupwara on Thursday, November 10.

In the event 20 teams hailing from all different parts of the District participated . The winners and runners-up teams were given direct berth in the upcoming State championship scheduled to be held at Bakshi Stadium here in December.

The Organizing Secretary of the event, said that Kupwara team will perform better in the State championship and they hope that players from the District will get berth for the National and International championships in near future.

On concluding day finals of different categories were played

In Under-19 boys, Wolfpack Rugby Club (Regipora) defeated Red Bulls Dedikote by 3-1 while as in Under-17 boys, Lion Hearts Rugby Club (Sohipora) defeated Shahwali Spartianz (Drugmulla) by 4-0 .

In Under-14 boys, Halmatpora Spartianz(Halmatpora) defeated Trehgam Worriers (Trehgam) by 2-1 .
