J&K’s cricket fraternity has welcomed the decision of international cricketer Irfan Pathan to join J&K team as mentor-cum player.
The Baroda based ace cricketer on Friday announced that he would be joining J&K team as mentor-cum player for one-year. During the period he would be playing for J&K senior team and would also hold coaching camps.
“It is big thing for J&K cricket. We welcome his signing for J&K cricket and hope that his inclusion will change fortunes of both JK team and cricket overall. On our part we will give all kind of support to J&K Cricket Association (JKCA) and Irfan in whatever capacity we are asked to make his stint and programs successful,” said former JKCA general secretary Saleem Khan.
BCCI media committee member and former J&K cricketer Ranjeet Kalra also welcomed Irfan’s joining J&K team and said, “This is great initiative on part of the JKCA chief executive officer Syed Ashquie Bukhari.”
Senior JK cricketer Abid Nabi also welcomed Irfan Pathan and said that he would look to work along with the Indian ace all-rounder for the promotion and development of the game.
