Gulmarg: On 2nd day of Annual State Winter Games 14 events were held at Gulmarg under the supervision of experts of the Winter Games Association of J&K, High Altitude Warfare School, IIS&M and other former international skiers at Merry Shoulder slope of Kongdori at Gulmarg.
In Senior Snowboarding Giant Slalom competition Firdous Ahmad Sheikh, Firdous Malik, and Yaseen Khanday got first three positions respectively, while in Junior Snowboarding Mehraj Din (Raj) Khan, Zubair Lone, and Reyaz Ahmad Bhat got first three positions respectively. In Senior Alpine Ski Championship for men Waseem Bhat, Bilal Ahmad Sheikh and Fayaz Ahmad Hajam got first three positions respectively and in women category Miss Saba Bashir got first and ShakeelaAkhtar got 2nd position. In girls born in 1997-1999 Miss SabiyaNabi, Miss Zainab Rashid and Miss MaroufulNisa got first three positions respectively. In born 2000-01 Sheikh Sajid Raza, Ayan Tariq Zargar, YousufGulDev got first three positions respectively, while in girls category Miss Zara Hashim, Faiqa and Muskan Latief got first three positions. In borne 2002-03 boys category Shoib Rashid Malik, Arsalan Manzoor and Sheikh Waleed got first three positions and in same category Miss Malaikah GulDev, Syeda Azha and Sadia Ajaz got first three positions. In borne 2004-05 category Azhar Hussain, Faizan Ahmad Lone and Mohammad Zaid got first three positions, while in girls category of same age group Miss Sarah Ajaz, Miss Nashida Dar and Juwanah got first three positions. In Nordic skiing 10kms men Mohammad Abid, Syed Javed, Mohamad Ashraf won first three positions respectively and among girls first three positions went to ShakilaAkhtar, Nighzat and IfraAnjum respectively.
Among others those who inspected the competitions were MLA Gulmarg and President WGAJK Mohammad Abbas Wani, Col JS Dhillon, Director IIS&M, Capt C. Mouli of High Altitide Warfare School and Mir Mudasir international skier and owner of Hotel Pine Palace and encouraged the participants and organizers.
