Chinar Tourney: Nasir Lone pilots Bandipora Cricket Club to quarters

Handwara, June 20: An all-round show by Nasir Lone on Thursday piloted Bandipora Cricket to quarter-finals of the ongoing Chinar Cricket Tourney at Handwara.

The flamboyant cricketer first scored a fifty with the bat and later picked a brace to help BCC knock down Victoria Reds Baramulla.

Earlier, batting first, Bandipora got off to a fiery start with Ishtiyaq Robby showing no mercy. He was well supported by Amir from the other end. However, as the former departed, Nasir Lone joined the party. The right-handed batsman scored a scintillating knock of 56 runs in 33 balls to steer BCC to 165 runs total in the T20 game.

In reply, Victoria Reds lost a couple of early wickets. However, partnership for fourth wicket gave them some hope before Bandipora bowlers struck back again.

The match turned out to be a nail-biting one as Victoria lastly fell two runs short. They managed to score 163/8 for, awarding BCC a berth in the quarters.

Nasir again shone with the ball, scalping a couple of wickets by giving away only 22 runs in his quota of 4 overs.
