Chief of Army staff honours Tajamul

Srinagar: Chief of the Army Staff, General Dalbir Singh, honored Tajamul Islam, Class II student of Army Goodwill School, Bandipora and winner of gold medal in World Sub-Junior Kickboxing Championship at South B

Tajamul won gold medal in the championship that was held in Italy, after beating her American opponent.

The COAS praised the grit and determination of the girl who has made the nation proud and hoped that her success would inspire other children of the Valley. Tajamul expressed her joy on meeting the Army Chief.

The young talent was spotted and initially nurtured by the Army Goodwill School, Bandipora. Tajamul had started her journey in the Kickboxing World  by winning gold medal in the State level championship held at Jammu in 2015. She thereafter won gold medal in sub-junior category in 2015 National Kickboxing Championship held at Talkatora Stadium, New Delhi.
