Srinagar: The two-day Open District Basketball championship organized by District Srinagar Basketball Association under the aegis of J&K State Sports Council started at Indoor Stadium Srinagar on Saturday.
The event was inaugurated by Div Sports Officer, Kashmir Mushtaq Ahmad. 
The event started with female section matches played. In the first match, Hoopstar Basketball Club defeated Women’s College MA road while as in second match Kashmir Warriors Sports Club defeated Green Valley School.
In male section, SSM College defeated Highland Hooper’s Basketball Club in first match while as in second match Joggers Basketball Club defeated Red State Basketball Club.
On Sunday, finals of the event would be held.
