Srinagar: Pakistan suffered defeat in its first T20I of the series vs hosts New Zealand in Auckland on Friday but the star duo of Babar Azam and Mohammad Rizwan achieved the major T20I milestones.
Babar Azam completed 3500 T20I runs during his 57-run knock from 35 balls. That has pushed him to third-highest run-scorer in this format, with a total of 3542 runs.
Virat Kohli (4008 runs) and Rohit Sharma (3853 runs) are the only ones ahead in the list of highest run-scorers in T20 Internationals.
Meanwhile, Mohammad Rizwan smashed two sixes in his 25-run knock from 14 balls, thereby equaling the record for most sixes hit by a Pakistani batter in T20I history.
With a total of 76 sixes in 74 T20I innings, Rizwan shares this impressive record with Mohammad Hafeez, who achieved the same number of sixes but over a more extended span of 108 T20 innings.
