Babar, Haris star in Pakistan’s 6-wkt win over hosts New Zealand

Srinagar: Skipper Babar Azam starred with the bat and pacer Haris Rauf was at his best as Pakistan beat hosts New Zealand by six wickets in the match of T20 Tr-series at Christchurch on Saturday.

Babar Azam (79 not out) and valuable knocks by Shadab Khan and Mohammad Nawaz ensures Pakistan beat New Zealand by six wickets. Pakistan chased down the target in 18.2 overs.

Earlier, Haris Rauf’s three wickets in the penultimate over derailed New Zealand’s momentum as they only managed to score 147/8. Rauf (3/28), Wasim (2/20), Nawaz (2/44) were excellent with the bowl for Pakistan.

New Zealand: 147 for 8 in 20 overs (Devon Conway 36, Kane Williamson 31, Mark Chapman 32; Haris Rauf 3/38, Wasim jr 2/20, Nawaz 2/44)

Pakistan: 149 for 4 in 19.2 overs (Babar Azam 79 not out, Shadab Khan 34; Tickner 2/42, Boult 1/22)
