Srinagar: The middle order batter Azam Khan struggled while as all-rounder Imad Wasim skipped as Pakistan cricketers underwent a fitness evaluation during the second day of their training at the Kakul Academy in Abbottabad.
As per reports, Azam Khan faced difficulty in completing the prescribed two-kilometer run.
“During this test, Irfanullah Khan Niazi showcased remarkable performance, leading the pack by completing the two-kilometer run in 6 minutes and 47 seconds. However, Azam struggled, managing only one and a half kilometers before stopping. His completion time for this distance was 20 minutes,”Cricket Pakistan Report said.
Meanwhile report said that Mohammad Rizwan finished the run in 8 minutes and 26 seconds, while Mohammad Haris, Naseem Shah, Haseebullah, and Mohammad Wasim Junior completed it in 8 minutes and 27 seconds. Mehran Mumtaz finished in 8 minutes and 30 seconds, Shaheen Shah Afridi in 8 minutes and 37 seconds, Agha Salman in 9 minutes and 20 seconds, Mohammad Amir in 9 minutes and 30 seconds, Shadab Khan in 9 minutes and 56 seconds, and Mohammad Nawaz in 9 minutes and 57 seconds.
The report further claimed that Imad Wasim was unable to participate due to concerns regarding suffering a potential knee injury. Similarly, Fakhar Zaman and Haris Rauf refrained from the test as they are still recovering from injuries sustained during the recently concluded ninth edition of the Pakistan Super League (PSL).
Babar Azam, who was in Saudi Arabia for Umrah, is expected to join the Kakul Academy camp on Thursday.
