Srinagar, July 8: With final word on the organising of Asia Cup 2020 cricket tournament yet to come out from hosts Pakistan Cricket Board and Asian Cricket Council, the BCCI President Sourav Ganguly has claimed that the event has been cancelled.
Due to ongoing Global Pandemic of Coronavirus the fate of the tournament has already been under question and the latest claim by Ganguly puts it in further cloud.
Ganguly in an Instagram Live chat with Journalist has said that current situation doesn’t allow to hold the multi-nation tournament.
“Asia Cup has been canceled,” claimed Ganguly just a day before the scheduled Asian Cricket Council (ACC) meeting.
Pakistan was to host the Asian event this September. The tournament was likely to take place at a neutral venue after India refused to travel neighbors due to political tensions among both countries.
