Srinagar, July 15: Pakistan opening batsman Shan Masood has praised veteran England pacer James Anderson terming him a threat ahead of England Test series. However, he has said that he and Pakistan team is ready for the challenge this time.

Masood admitted that during his last time in England, facing Anderson was difficult but this time he has come prepared and is ready.

“We all know how good Anderson is and all of his records. Obviously, he is a threat for us, in fact, the whole bowling attack of England,” said Shan Masood said this in an interaction with Pakistan journalist via video.

“I last faced Anderson in England in 2016 and I know I wasn’t too good against him but the time has changed now. A lot of things changed in the last four years, I have improved myself and looking forward to facing him once again,” Masood said.

He said Pakistan team is this time preparing well and time spent in training sessions in England will surely help.

“See, we started off well here with two weeks of useful training sessions. We are still left with three weeks before taking on England in the first Test, I think there is enough time to prepare ourselves strong for the challenge,” he said.

“Obviously, they will have an added advantage of home conditions, plus they will be in touch after playing three Tests against West Indies. But, as I said, our focus will be fully on what we can do to overcome them,” he added upon being asked.

Pakistan are scheduled to play three matches Test series against England from August 5.
