District Anantnag emerged winner of the Under-17 boys Divisional level Inter-District cricket champions defeating Budgam in final at HSS Bijbehara ground on Wednesday.
10 district teams of Kashmir participated and in final Anantnag defeated Budgam.
On the concluding day two semifinal and a final was played. In the first semi-final Anantnag defeated Pulwama by 33 runs. Younus Ahmad from Anantnag was the top scorer scoring 60 runs in 28 balls, hitting 11 fours and one six. In second semi-final Budgam defeated Kupwara by nine wickets.
In final match District Anantnag won the toss and elected to bat first. Anantnag scored 108 runs in the allotted overs. In reply Budgam fell short by five runs. Anantnag emerged out as winner.
Mujabul Haq from Budgam played a unbeaten knock 55 runs.
Astt. Commissioner Revenue Anantnag was the chief guest on the occasion. Sub-divisional Magistrate Bijbehara, District Information Officer Anantnag and Principal HSS Bijbehara were the guest of honor.
