Srinagar: JKSRTC-XI football team on Friday defeated MP Chandwa football club by 2-0 goals in the match of the All India Football Federation tournament at Madhya Pradesh.
The team that is representing J&K in the event, dedicated its win to late Shabir Ahmad popularly known as “Train” who passed away recently. Shabir was essential part of the SRTC team.
Rayees Ahmad and Suhail Ahmad were the scorers for SRTC side.
“We dedicate this win to our legend, Shabir Ahmad who passed away recently. He was known as Train and always used to be essential part of the team. It was first match that we played after his demise. We dedicate this win to Shabir and hope that we go on to emerge winners of the event,” said a team member.
