Akber Khan shines in Mumbai-Pune Cyclone

Making J&K proud, Star cyclist of Kashmir, Mohammad Akber Khan bagged second place in the sprint stage of India’s historical and toughest cycling event, Mumbai-Pune Cyclone-2018 held on Sunday.

Competing along with some of the best riders of Country, First International cyclist of J&K,  Akber who plays for Noora Hospital finished second in Khopoli sprint stage of the 160-KM total distance event. In the event around 200 riders from all over Country took part and overall race was segregated into multiple stages with riders having chance to bag place and prize money at different level.

Akber was able to sneak in second in the mountain stage of Khopoli and bagged prize money of Rs: 7500. In the event other two riders from Kashmir also took part.

Mansoor Ahmad and Parvaiz who play for Celestial Buds High School were the other two riders from Kashmir. Mansoor finished the event covering total distance of 160 kilometers while as Parvaiz due to technical issues was not able to finish.

Managing Director Noora Hospital Manzoor Ahmad Wagay has hailed Akber who is brand ambassador of the hospital for the achievement and has hoped that he continues to bring laurels for the State at national level.
