International cyclist of Kashmir Akbar Khan who plays for Noora Hospital has joined and started training at Guru Nanak Dev University (GNDU), Amritsar cycling coaching camp.
Akbar who won two gold medals last year for GNDU has been invited by the University with the aim to field the cyclist in the upcoming Road and Inter-University track cycling events.
Khan will represent GNDU in upcoming All India Road Inter-University cycling championship scheduled to be held in Rajasthan’s Bikaner University from Dec 10 to 13. Owing to his cycling credentials GNDU Akbar was granted admission by GNDU on sports quota in its MPEd stream.
“GNDU is known for producing top level players of Country. It is known for its sports dominance and to get chance to take part in its training camp is no small feat,” said Akber.
Last year GNDU lifted All India Inter-University cycling championship in which Akbar Khan played a very important role by bagging two gold medals.
Akbar also thanked Managing Director of Noora Hospital Manzoor WAGAY for supporting and making him brand ambassador of the hospital.
