Adil Teli of Gandhi Memorial College Srinagar secured 1st position in annual inter- college cycle race for Men. The event was organised by Directorate of Physical Education & Sports, University of Kashmir on Saturday. The event witnessed remarkable participation of 70 cyclists from 17 affiliated colleges of the University.
The cyclists executed their skills superbly throughout and proved their mettle in the endurance cum power event. The event was flagged off at UNO Office by Professor Nisar Ahmad Rather, Director Physical Education & Sports and culminated at Rumi gate, Kashmir University.
Speaking on the occasion, he congratulated all the cyclists particularly medal winners of the race. He assured the cyclists that Directorate would extend its every possible support for the promotion of cycling in the University. Akbar Khan International Cyclist of J&K was also present on the occasion, he also shared his experience and encouraged all the cyclists for participating in the event.
Adil Teli of Gandhi Memorial College clinched 1st position while as Pervaiz Ahmad of Amar Singh College bagged 2nd position and Mansoor Ahmad of GDC Bemina clinched 3rd position. The prize distribution ceremony was held in the Directorate of Physical Education & Sports and the medals were distributed by Professor Nisar Ahmad Rather and Akbar Khan. Director thanked principals of all colleges, Physical Directors, Staff of the Directorate, proctorial wing and university health centre for making the event a grand success.
