Srinagar, Nov 5: Elegant Strikers Green stormed into the final of the Downtown Champions League (DCL) T20 Junior League after a sensational win over Elegant Strikers Yellow in the semifinal played at Gani Memorial Stadium, Rajouri Kadal, on Wednesday.
Batting first, Elegant Strikers Yellow posted a competitive total of 160/9 in their allotted 20 overs. Their innings featured useful contributions throughout the order, setting the stage for a tense chase.
In reply, Elegant Strikers Green pulled off a dramatic victory, chasing down the target on the last ball of the innings, finishing at 164/6 in 20 overs.
Rizwan Turns the Game Around
With 40 runs needed from the final two overs, Elegant Green’s Rizwan turned the game on its head. Displaying nerves of steel and clean hitting under pressure, Rizwan single-handedly guided his team to a memorable win.
His match-winning cameo earned him the Player of the Match award, as he ensured Green’s place in the coveted DCL T20 Junior League final.
Meanwhile, Abid Farooq also played a crucial role for the winning side, scoring a fluent 57 runs off 36 balls, anchoring the chase before Rizwan’s fireworks sealed the deal.
