Raipur, November 2: Jammu and Kashmir opener Shubham Khajuria produced a magnificent innings of 190 runs off 344 balls to guide his team to a strong first-innings total of 394 against Chhattisgarh on Day 2 of their Ranji Trophy Elite 2025-26 clash at the Shaheed Veer Narayan Singh International Stadium, Raipur.
Khajuria’s knock was a display of patience and skill as he smashed 30 boundaries and 2 sixes, anchoring the innings for Jammu and Kashmir. Supporting contributions came from Paras Dogra (59), Kanhaiya Wadhwan (42), and Umar Nazir (40), who helped push the total close to the 400-run mark.
For the hosts, pacer Ravi Kiran was the standout performer with the ball, claiming an impressive seven wickets, running through the J&K lower order and restricting them from reaching a bigger total.
In reply, Chhattisgarh ended the day at 75 for 1, trailing by 319 runs. Aayush Pandey, who looked in fine touch, scored 32 runs before being dismissed by Umar Nazir, who picked up the only wicket for J&K.
With three days of play remaining, the match remains evenly poised, though the visitors will look to tighten their grip by making early inroads into the Chhattisgarh batting lineup on Day 3.
