At a time when every team in the world is dying to have pace bowling all-rounders in their squad, JKCA is leaving out two gun all-rounders for reasons better known to them.
Auqib Nabi, who was highest wicket-taker for J&K in last two editions of Vijay Hazare Trophy, has been kept constantly out of the playing XI, first in the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy and now even in the ongoing Vijay Hazare Trophy.
Nasir Lone, another all-rounder, is also not being preferred in the playing XI despite showing promise in whatever opportunities thrown at him. In fact, he produced a match-winning performance with both bat and ball for J&K in the lone practice match against Railways ahead of the Vijay Hazare Trophy.
Both these all-rounders have amazing skill sets. Any other domestic team in India would want them on their side, however, JKCA just doesn’t seem to be interested.
This is at a time when J&K had a terrible Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy and lost the first match of Vijay Hazare Trophy by a huge margin. These two all-rounders could change the fortunes of J&K but only if they are given gametime.
Giving them a match or two in the entire tournament just doesn’t do justice to their talent. It is high time JKCA wakes up and gives these two players the treatment they deserve.
