ICC T20 Rankings: Suryakumar Yadav stays at the top; maintains healthy leads over Rizwan, Babar

Srinagar: India’s Suryakumar Yadav is holding on to his top spot in ICC T20 Rankings with healthy lead over Pakistan star duo of Mohammad Rizwan and Babar Azam.

Despite a recent run of poor form in the ongoing IPL, he maintained his 906 rating points on the list, which is more than a hundred points ahead of the second-placed Mohammad Rizwan of Pakistan.

Suryakumar Yadav was fantastic against New Zealand and Sri Lanka earlier this year and was simply unstoppable in 2022.

Suryakumar is the only Indian player in the top ten. Virat Kohli, a former captain, is the next best Indian batter, ranking 15th. Among Indian bowlers, left-arm pacer Arshdeep Singh is the highest-ranked at 14th, while veteran seamer Bhuvneshwar Kumar dropped down to 19th.

In the all-rounders’ category, Shakib Al Hasan leads, with Hardik Pandya in second place.

Raup has been in superb touch in the ongoing T20I series against New Zealand. He picked up consecutive four-wicket hauls against the tourists and also won the Player of the Match award in the first game. Rauf was a little ahead of Shaheen Afridi and behind Shadab Khan – who is on 12 in the T20I rankings. Rauf has now climbed up to the 11th spot.

Also, Ish Sodhi and Shaheen have moved up by four places and two places respectively.

Left-arm spinner Prabath Jayasuriya was the other notable player who climbed 13 places to enter the top 20 of the ICC Test bowling rankings after a career-best performance against Ireland in the first Test.
