Srinagar, July 5: In major development Sri Lanka cricketer Kusal Mendis has been arrested by the Police in connection to an Car accident in Panadura, outside Colombo.
The Police said the vehicle driven by Kusal had collided with a 64 year- old cyclist, killing the man instantly.
Police said that the 25-year-old batsman was driving an SUV at Panadura before dawn when the incident happened. Mendis’s SUV has also been taken into police custody.
He has represented Sri Lanka in 44 Tests, 76 ODIs and 26 T20Is. He was part of the Sri Lankan squad that underwent a training camp in Pallekele earlier in the week.
