After having resumed training after a break due to global pandemic of Coronavirus England’s record-breaking pacer James Anderson has said that the forced break may have extended his career by two years.

“I got up to speed quite quickly. I’m off my full run-up and I feel like I’m ready to play now,” Anderson said while speaking to Tailenders podcast. “This unwanted break somewhere gives me an extension of a year or two in my career,” he added.

The 37-year-old pacer, who is a part of a 55-player list who has been given permission to resume self-training, is enjoying his time out there after a long period of time.

“I’ve really enjoyed being back and as odd as it is just bowling into a net, with not many people around, it’s still nice to be back and playing cricket,” he stated.

“I bring all the kit myself – my bands and med balls to warm-up with – and I’ve got my own cricket balls which I don’t normally have. I have a quick lap around the outfield and then straight into the nets. I bowl a few overs and then get straight back in the car and go home,” he concluded.
