Jammu, February 22: Bowling heavyweights Jammu and Kashmir on Saturday surprised star-studded Karnataka on day-three of Ranji Trophy quarter-final, bundling them on below-par 206 runs at GGM Science College ground, Jammu.

After there was a lull on first two days, courtesy of bad weather, the hosts got off to a flying start this morning. Pacer Auqib Nabi removed visitors’ captain Karun Nair in first over of day, hence getting J&K an upper hand in the match.

Although Sidharth KV made sure to keep Karnataka in the match with his scintillating 76-run knock, once he departed, J&K bowlers ran through the rest of their batting line-up.

Mujtaba Yousuf was the standout performer, bowling some spectacular delivers in this way to grab a three-for. Apart from him, skipper Parvez Rasool and Auqib Nabi scalped three wickets each.

Welcomed by the roars of host team fans, the J&K batsmen started well, however, lost a quick two wickets afterward. Experienced campaigner Shubham Khajuria played some serene shots, helping the home team finish the day on top.

He remained unbeaten on 39 runs alongside Shubham Pundir who was playing on 16 at stumps.
