Srinagar: Department of Youth Services and Sports conducted events across Kashmir on Saturday.
International Karate Player and National Licensed Coach Tajamul Khan Inaugurated Inter School Zonal Level Taekwondo and Judo Competition of Girls AAG in District Budgam.
Department of Youth Services and Sports Budgam, led by District Youth Services and Sports Officer Balbir Singh Sodhi, organized inter school zonal level Judo and Taekwondo Competition for U/14 , U/17 and U/19 Girls at Tajamul sports Academy Kanahima.
The said event was inaugurated by international karate player, National licensed coach Tajamul Ahmad khan, Khelo India National player Tanzeela Nazir Technical expert Martial Art Shabir Ahmad lone PET BHSS Wadwan with in charge Activity ZPEO Narbal, Bashir Ahmad Sheikh and Convener Mohammad Rafi Pandith PET BMS check Kawoosa in which 41 students from different Government and Private schools of zone Narbal participated with great enthusiasm.
Moreover the department organized inter-zonal district level Football Competition of U/17 boys at two different venues of Sheikh-ul-Alam Khel Maidan Charari-sharief and Sports Stadium Magam respectively.
First match was played between Zone Soibugh v/s Zone Narbal. Zone Soibugh won by 4:0.
Similarly at Sheikh-ul-Alam Khel Maidan Charari-i-Sharief first match was played between Zone NAGAM V/S Zone CHADOORA, in which zone NAGAM won the match by 2:1. The 2nd match was played between Zone Charari-i-Sharief V/S zone B.K PORA. Zone BK PORA won the match BY 2-0.
District Srinagar
District Srinagar conducted multiple sports activities in various Zones of the District. Inter school zonal level competitions were conducted by Zone Rainawari in the discipline of volleyball and Kho-Kho for girls under the age group of 19 years. The competitions were conducted at GHSS Rainawari where before starting the event participants in presence of officials took an Anti-Drug pledge and promised to make Srinagar and society drug free. A Total of 75 participants participated in this event which includes Private Schools too.

NORTH KASHMIR
The Youth Services and Sports J&K in district Bandipora has taken a significant step towards augmenting the expertise and efficiency of its field staff officials through a comprehensive refresher cum orientation course. Commencing today, the course is being conducted at two prominent venues – SK Stadium Bandipora and NM Boys Higher Secondary School Bandipora.
Seventy dedicated field staff officials participated in the inaugural day of the program, engaging in both theory and practical sessions to ensure a well-rounded training experience. The morning session, hosted at NM Boys Higher Secondary School, provided essential knowledge and valuable insights to the enthusiastic participants.
The second half of the day witnessed the practical application of the acquired knowledge at the SK Stadium Bandipora. This hands-on approach allowed the field staff officials to implement the learnings in real-world scenarios, making the learning process both engaging and effective.
KUPWARA
Furthermore, in the pursuit of promoting adventure, physical fitness, and overall youth development, the District Youth Services and Sports Office Kupwara commenced an extensive Trekking Program on July 12, 2023. The program is being conducted across four locations, including Tangdar, Chamkoot, Langate, and Rajwar, under the age group of U-19. A staggering number of approximately 841 students have enthusiastically participated in the expedition.
In the breathtaking locales of Mawar Bala and Doribal Qaziabad, students from Zone Langate embarked on this challenging and exciting journey, exploring the natural landscapes and testing their physical endurance.
Zone Tangdar conducted trekking at two venues, GHSS Nachiyan to Kandrwal and HSS Nowagabra to Gabra Dana, with the active involvement of dedicated officials and local representatives.
Zone Handwara organized a padayatra from Gurduwara Chogal to Peerkha Sahab Watayen, symbolizing respect for all religions and promoting peace, kindness, and harmony among the new generation. This event saw the participation of 150 students along with officials from the Department of Youth Services & Sports.
BARAMULLA
Meanwhile, the spirit of sportsmanship and healthy competition continued to thrive among the youth in District Baramulla. Inter-school sports competitions were held across various zones for boys and girls under the age of 14 and 17 in disciplines such as Volleyball, Kho-Kho, and Kabaddi.
Zone Dangerpora hosted thrilling events of U/17 Girls Volleyball and Kho-Kho, witnessing the enthusiastic participation of more than 390 students from different schools.
Zone Wagoora organized volleyball competitions for under 14 girls at Boys Higher Secondary School Wagoora, attracting participation from over 800 students.
The week-long inter-school competition in Volleyball, Kho-Kho, and Kabaddi culminated at High School Dewanbagh, with Assistant Commissioner Revenue Baramulla, Mumtaz Ahmad, commending the efforts of young athletes and encouraging them to pursue sports alongside academics. The winners and outstanding performers from each zone will progress to district-level sports competitions, fostering healthy competition and talent development.
