‘Ye Spinner Tha Ki Batsman Tha?’: Shahid Afridi takes dig at Amit Mishra for trolling Babar Azam

Srinagar: Former Pakistan cricketer Shahid Afridi has taken a brutal dig at former India spinner Amit Mishra for trolling Pakistan current skipper Babar Azam.

Amit Mishra had trolled Pakistan skipper with a tweet after Babar Azam got run-out during his team’s T20 World Cup 2022 Super 12 match against Netherlands in Perth.

“This, too, will pass. Keep going, Babar Azam,” Amit Mishra Tweeted.

Back in July when Virat Kohli was struggling with his form, Babar Azam had posted a similar tweet to back him, moments after his dismissal in an ODI match against England. He wrote, “This too shall pass. Stay strong. #ViratKohli,”.

While Babar’s tweet was genuine, Amit Mishra’s tweet seemed more like a sarcastic dig.

Now reacting to a troll by Amit Mishra, former Pakistan star Shahid Afridi took a brutal dig at Mishra by asking show host on Pakistan channel, is this a spinner or batter.

On Pakistan’s Samaa TV, the anchor reacted to Amit Mishra’s tweet, stating that while Babar showed big heart, ‘a player named Amit Mishra is making fun of it’.

Shahid Afridi, who was part of the show, responded, “Ye jo aap naam le rahe hain Amit Mishra, ye bhi India se khela hua hai. Ye spinner tha ki batsman tha?”.

After being told he was a spinner, he Afridi said, “Koi baat nahi. Chalein aage. This too shall pass”.

Pakistan is slated to play its next T20 World Cup match against South Africa at the Sydney Cricket Ground (SCG) on Thursday, November 3.
