Wushu athletes Shine for J&K in 37th National Games, bag 5 medals 

Srinagar: Wushu athletes shined for J&K in the 37th National Games 2023 by bagging five medals to push J&K’s medal tally to 22 in the ongoing mega event in Goa on Saturday.

J&K wushu team had qualified for the 06 events in Wushu for the Games and out of that J&K Wushu team secured one Gold and 02 Silver and 02 bronze medals.

Surya Bhanu Partap singh defeated Manipur in the finals to fetch the Gold for the UT j&K, whereas  Abhijeet singh and Naveed farooq lost to Services and Rajasthan in the finals. Abhishek Jamwal last edition Gold medalist secured Bronze medals lost to Services in the semi Finals and Riya Chib in 65kg lost to UP in the semis.

Last year J&K remained number one in the medal tally in Wushu, followed by the Services. This time J&K remained 4th in the Sanda event.

J&K has so far bagged five gold, Eight Silver and Nine Bronze Medals.

It is already best ever medal haul for J&K im the games. J&K expect more medals in SQAY. If SQAY is able to bring 4 to 5 gold medals , then J&K can finish anywhere between top 10 to 15 on Medals Table.
