With SnowShoe sport set to feature in the first ever Khelo India Winter Games at Gulmarg, the sport is already attracting big names towards it.
The recent example is that of Union Sports Minister Kiren Rijiju enjoying SnowShoeing on the ski slopes of Auli Uttarakhand.
The Indian Sports Minister enjoyed doing Snowshoeing and he was acompaneid by Snowshoe Federation of India- Uttarakhand official Ajay Bhatt.
It may be a small step but for the development of Snowshoe sport and activity in India it is big moment and it can benifit Snowshoe in India in longer run.
SnowShoe was introduced in India in 2015 and since then SSFI has been conducting snowshoe events and sending teams for International competition on regular basis. It has already held national as well as local events and Khelo India is a chance for Snowshoe in India to reach far greater heights.
Recently Indian team bagged three medals during World Snowshoe Championship 2020 held in Myoko Japan. It was first time ever that Indian players bagged medals at World stage.
