Welkin Premier League: Umar’s double strike leads Sanctorum FC to semifinals

Sopore, Nov 21: In the ongoing Welkin Premier League, today the fourth quarterfinal of the tournament was played between Sanctorum FC and Kashmir Harvard FC, in which Sanctorum FC emerged victorious over Kashmir Harvard FC by 2:0 to confirm their place in the semifinals.

The game started very steadily in the first few minutes but soon Sanctorum FC created back to back opportunities but failed to convert them into goals. Kashmir Harvard FC on the other hand came close thrice to score the goal but were denied by some brilliant goal-keeping by goalkeeper Ubaid who produced some wonderful saves including a saved penalty kick from Kashmir Harvard. The first half ended at a score of 0:0

In the second half, Sanctorum FC came all guns blazing and opened their account with a scintillating goal courtesy their striker Umar. Umar very quickly doubled the score with one more blistering goal from the left wing to hand Sanctorum FC a place in the semifinals with a comfortable win by 2:0.

Lastly, Umar was declared as player of the match for his two scintillating goals.

Sanctorum FC will now face M.E.T Sopore in the semifinals while as the host team SRM Welkin will lock horns with Green Valley Education Srinagar in the other semifinal of the tournament.
