Srinagar: Pakistan star pacer Shaheen Afridi is shining with the bat as well these days and on Monday clinched a win for his team Nottinghamshire with a last over six in the ongoing T20 Vitality Blast against Durham.
Earlier Alex Hales played brilliant inning to guide Nottinghamshire Outlaws to victory in the Vitality Blast by scoring an unbeaten 65 runs.
In the later part of the match, Hales played anchor role while as allowing his teammates Tom Moores and Shaheen Afridi to free their arms.
Nottinghamshire emerged winner with Afridi hitting two sixes t secure the win for Nottinghamshire. Afridi’s quick cameo of 17 runs from 12 balls, including two sixes and a four, proved instrumental in the team’s triumph.
Earlier, Durham’s Ollie Robinson took on the Nottinghamshire bowlers, hitting Afridi for two boundaries and achieving his second consecutive fifty in the Vitality Blast after his outstanding performance against Yorkshire.
However, Afridi later dismissed Robinson. Pakistan pacer finished with 1/39 in his four overs.
Durham finished with a total of 168 runs in their 20 overs.
