Srinagar: The sensational reverse scoop by England’s Joe Root off Australia Scott Boland left both fans and a bowler stunned on the guest day of the Ashes Test at Edgbaston, Birmingham on Friday.
After England lost wickets on regular intervals, Joe Root and Jonny Bairstow stitched a solid stand for six wicket. Joe Root looked in stunning touch. Such good was Root’s dominance with the bat on the opening day that he even hit a reverse scoop for a six that too on the bowling of right-arm Australia pacer Scott Boland.
It was sensational , outrageous shot from the like of traditionalist Joe Root that too against tall lanky pacer like Boland. Everyone was left stunned.
Boland bowled a fuller ball outside off stump and Root sent it over the third man fence for a six.
