Srinagar: Known for all-round cricket skills, England all-rounder Ben Stokes once again on Wednesday showed glimpses of acrobatic fielding talent as he pulled off a sensational fielding effort to deny Mitchell Marsh a six during the second T20 international between Australia and England in Canberra.
The incident occurred during the 12th over of the innings bowled by Sam Curran. Mitchell Marsh was on strike on an individual score of 34 and he tried to clear the long off boundary when he saw the delivery pitching full around middle and off stump.
It looked like the ball would clear the boundary ropes easily but Stokes didn’t let that happen as he pulled off a stunning effort to save a certain six. The all-rounder jumped off the ground near the boundary ropes and swatted the ball inside the field, with his feet still in the air.
A couple of runs was all Marsh could take off that delivery and Stokes ended up saving valuable four runs for his team.
